READING IMPROVEMENT

Many students have been diagnosed or struggle with reading issues, such as:

• Dyslexia

• Phonemic awareness of encoding

• Phonemic awareness of decoding

• Retrieval

• Short term memory of sight words

• Long term memory of sight words

• Sight word recognition

• Reading Comprehension

 

Our team of reading specialists provides appropriate remediation either using psycho-educational evaluations or our diagnostic reading evaluations to determine a plan of action. Using the results of these evaluations, we determine which reading program would be most effective. These programs include the Wilson Reading Program, Orton-Gillingham, and Lindamood-Bell. We often use a combination approach that works well to fill in student gaps. We create an individualized plan based on each student’s individual needs. Our program has been extremely successful in not only in building a student’s confidence, but also taking away the stigma of being a poor reader.
