Stephanie grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, and was home-schooled from K-12th grade. After graduating high school, she attended Montgomery College where she earned her AA in General Studies. She transferred to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County to major in English Literature and minor in Music and Theatre. After graduating from UMBC, Stephanie worked for the Montgomery County Public School System as a daily substitute teacher, long-term substitute teacher, home and hospital teacher, and assistant producer for Walter Johnson’s drama department. Stephanie then continued her education at Johns Hopkins University where she earned her master’s degree in Secondary Education in English. Following graduation, she returned to MCPS, this time as a full-time teacher at Northwest High School.
Throughout her experience in education, Stephanie saw first-hand how any student can be successful when given the correct tools. Literature and language can be exciting to any student if they are taught to use the appropriate skills. She is looking forward to sharing these skills to help open students' eyes to the possibilities and adventures waiting in the English language.
