Tamara is a full-time, professional tutor with over 10 years of combined teaching and tutoring experience. She is a Pepperdine University graduate with a joint degree in International Relations and Spanish, as well as a graduate of the University of California, Dominguez Hills, in Elementary Education. Tamara has previously worked as an English Middle School teacher for both the Los Angeles Unified School District and Friendship Public Charter Schools in Washington, D.C. Tamara is an alumna of Teach for America, a non-profit organization that is committed to closing the achievement gap in our great nation. She has also volunteered hundreds of hours tutoring students for free at various community tutoring programs.
Tamara specializes in teaching the following subjects: Spanish, English Language Arts & Literature, Reading & Phonics, Elementary Math, Homeschooling, World Studies, U.S. History, AP Courses, the SSAT, ISEE, ACT, PSAT, and SAT.
In addition to tutoring, Tamara is also available to hire as a scribe for your testing accommodation needs. Tamara is a firm believer in helping kids feel positive about themselves and the learning process, and she teaches both Organizational & Executive Function Skills to support the needs of her students.
In addition to teaching, Tamara is also an accomplished writer. Her contemporary romance novel, Sands of Grace, was published in 2016, and her two young adult novels—Crepes and Crickets and My Grandpa, the Bodybuilder, were published in 2017.
